Halo Body Art Studio

Redefining the tattoo industry over the last decade by offering a highly personalized experience, our approach to body modification emphasizes enhancing not only the natural lines of the body, but also the consciousness of each client. Tsunami, our tattooist, has travelled extensively in more than 35 countries bringing his unique brand of body art to the world. When in Canada he works out of his exclusive 245 CARLAW AVE & QUEEN STREET EAST studio in Toronto's historic factory district. His style is defined by bold yet simple patterns that reflect the emotions and experiences of his clients. He believes that every tattoo design has merit because it stems from a spontaneous and ongoing collaboration:

"Everything that I absorb from a person before and during a tattoo is fused into the actual tattoo. A tattoo is a talisman which can guide and direct us through the complexities of our life; it can heal, as well as inform us. The most liberating work that I do is with clients who come to me with their ideas and concepts without necessarily having a finalized design yet. This allows me to create a unique work of art outside of the confines of popular imagery. I enjoy working in a variety of styles and using an eclectic blend of techniques to realize each new piece.

I believe that the art of tattoo is a celebration of the living body. It provides a nexus between individual and culturally defined values. As the tattoo becomes part of the body, the individual becomes part of the thoughts and deeds of society. There is a harmony created between the internal and the external when one receives a tattoo, and it is within this state of harmony that the questions of our existence are revealed."

The art of body piercing involves a similar process of transformation;

"The piercing itself, although brief in time, opens a doorway to one's mind and emotions that is indelible."

Whether it's a unique tattoo design or an innovative piercing, we take the time to discuss important issues such as procedure and aftercare.

We are HEALTH BOARD APPROVED and strictly follow UNIVERSAL PRECAUTIONS in all procedures. All surgical instruments such as tubes, forceps and scissors are pre-packaged and sterilized using a steam pressure autoclave. Our needles are single use only and are opened from steri-clave pouches in front of each client. Any disposable items such as ink cups, razors, and barrier control plastics are NEVER RE-USED.

We require that our clients book an appointment in order for us to meet their individual needs. This allows us to schedule private, group, or spiritually oriented sessions.
